Dear Staff,
When I chose to go to Gérard-Filion in 2017, it was for sport. It has always been a passion for me. When I arrived, I immediately saw that my school looked like a sports team.
There is the coach. All the teachers I have had have been able to inspire us, push us further and give us the tools necessary for our success. Without their encouragement, some players would have remained on the bench. Thanks to them, they managed to get up and find the motivation to continue.
Alongside the coach, there is the assistant coach. The TES, the professionals, the resource teachers who work hard to improve the game for all players. They motivate, encourage, understand and listen to players to give them winning strategies. Without them, the coaches wouldn't have the time to help the players as much. They are a vital part of the team.
There is also the equipment manager. The janitors ensure that each morning the ground is clean and that we have all the necessary equipment for our success. Sometimes we forget the importance of a clean and safe pitch.
There is also the referee. The supervisors are there to remind us of the rules of the game. Sometimes, even if we make a mistake, they are there for our safety and our health. We can always talk to them to solve our problems on the ground. They give us occasional punishments, but only after many warnings. They are patient with us and allow us to evolve as players.
There are organizers and markers. Our directors ensure the smooth running of tournaments and matches. They coach the teams, they supervise the players and make sure everyone on the team has the support they need to win the game. In addition, our secretaries and administrative staff verify that all players are present on the field. They are there to give the necessary reminders to the match organisers. They accumulate our statistics and share them with us at each stage of the match.
Let's not forget to mention the nurse who is always there to take care of our little sores and help us get back to the field stronger than ever.
Thanks to this awesome team, I always felt like I belonged and an important part of the GF team. I think this opinion is shared by all players, i.e. GF students. We therefore want to thank you for your excellent work which will allow us to reach the next level: adult life.
